Talk: Her Majesty’s Railway Inspectors in 2023 – 183 years of peering forwards
Friends of Swindon Railway Museum – 2023 Lecture Programme
Keith Atkinson – Her Majesty’s Railway Inspectors in 2023 – 183 years of peering forwards
20 March at 19:00pm
Keith will describe how the Railway Inspectors historically investigated major accidents and then look at the developments and actions that should make running tomorrow’s railways safer. He will talk about the late 1990s & early 2000s train crashes, what came out of the subsequent enquiries and the improvement in the rail safety record they should bring about.
Both Members and non-Members are welcome to attend. A small, voluntary donation to the Friends of Swindon Railway Museum would be appreciated.
Please note: the AGM of the Friends will take place prior to the talk. It’s your chance to find out what the Friends have been doing over the last year and contribute ideas for the future. Please email fofsrm@gmail.com for further details.
