Blended Learning

We have prepared a range of Discovery Boxes available for schools to borrow. Each box contains 10 – 15 items.

Victorian themes include:

• Seaside
• Victorian washday
• Railways
• A Box of 12 (a dozen Victorian objects)

World War II themes include:

• Air Raid
• Home front
• Rationing
• Children in WWII (toys)

If there is something else you would like to borrow, please do get in touch as we may be able to create a bespoke loan box for you.

Discovery boxes cost £35.00 to borrow for a two-week period (schools more than 10 miles from STEAM will be charged an extra £10 to cover transport costs).

You will also be offered a live virtual question and answer session where pupils will be able to learn about more about the stories behind the objects for an additional fee. These can take place on Teams or Zoom and cost £20.00 for 30 mins or £35 for 45-60 minutes.

We’ll come to you! Sessions are suitable for both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two, and they allow children to contextualise their learning through storytelling using characters, costume, drama and role-play.

Each session is delivery by our Formal Learning Team within schools at a cost of £5.50 per pupil.

We’ll join your class via Microsoft Teams for a Q&A or discussion.
