We welcome Foundation stage 2 classes to STEAM. We offer a number of activities for four and five year-olds around the museum, including the Track it down trail.

Discovery Sessions
We offer a Discovery Session that takes children on a fun Seaside holiday; introducing the changes the railways brought and using simple and fun ways to spot the difference between a seaside holiday then and now.
We use real and replica objects at the station platform as well as dressing up, make believe and song. It is ideal for the themes of Seaside, Holidays and Transport and past and present.
Currently, we are unable to offer Discovery Sessions for children under four.

Self-Guided Visits
STEAM features fantastic historic and interactive displays exploring the history of Swindon and the Great Western Railway. It is ideal for visits based on locomotives, local history, art, engineering and figures of historical significance.
Group bookings for Self-Guided Visits are available for any Key Stage, including EYFS and children under four.
